Assistant Golf Professional/Intern
General Qualifications

Understand golf rules/procedures, golf facility operations and tournament operations

Ability and willingness to work long hours and weekends as demanded by the business cycles
Job Duties
Manage Golf activities of CHCC - planning, promoting and directing all golf activities
Assist with member check in, schedule tee times, control and manage play, collect green fees
Plan, organize and conduct tournaments, outside outings and related events
Marshal the golf course to ensure timely rounds and proper use of the facility
Assist with golf calendar and help schedule events with the help of the Golf Committee and General Manager
Manage the handicap system within subscribed system with NGA and/or USGA
Maintain handicap records
Provide golf instruction (individual lessons and group clinics)
Manage the daily opening and closing of golf operations as needed
Assist members with interpreting golf rules and regulations
Work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent/General Manager to communicate tournaments and events, course conditions and maintenance scheduling
Direct and Implement a JR. Golf Program
Manage seasonal personnel
Train and schedule staff as needed
Supervise staff
Manage the clubhouse, proshop and inventory
Maintain clean facilities
Manage the golf fleet
Manage range balls
Assist in the inventory control, special orders, displays and sales
Maintain responsibility for cleanliness and appearance of golf shop, storage and merchandise displays
Communicate effectively
Communicate effectively with all members, guests and staff
Develop materials to communicate tournaments and upcoming events
Help maintain the clubs webpage and facebook page to market the facility’s services
Communicate with members regarding upcoming golf events, course closures and any other important information
Personal and professional conduct
Conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain and promote a professional image at all times
Act as a role model for all staff by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all staff
Maintain high visibility with the membership
Work effectively with the public and members

Supervision
