The Clinical Dietitian coordinates the nutritional aspects of patient care in a wide variety of inpatient and outpatient settings, and serves as a resource for promoting nutrition education within the organization and community. This position performs and documents nutrition assessments for at risk patients identified through nutrition screening. This position assesses nutritional needs and identifies nutrient requirements according to age and diseasespecific needs of patients, and provides diet education and counseling on therapeutic diets. This position, also, collaborates with other hospital services to implement the nutrition care plan.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Approves patient menus and nutrition supplements.
Calculates patients' nutritional needs for oral, enteral and parenteral nutrition.
Maintains pertinent patient data necessary to recommend, prescribe or modify therapeutic diets as needed, to meet the nutritional needs of the patients and documents nutrition care plan in the medical record.
Participates in patient care conferences and collaborates with other hospital services including medical staff, nursing, pharmacy, and social work, to plan and implement patient care, as necessary, in meeting the nutritional needs of the patients.
Performs and documents nutritional assessments, including nutritionfocused physical assessments when applicable and evaluates patient tolerance to therapeutic diets when appropriate.
Performs nutrition reassessment by monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the nutrition care plan.
Performs patient access duties: schedules, checks in, checks out, and enters charges for nutrition appointments.
Plans and implements patient nutrition interventions, and establishes goals aimed at resolving nutritionrelated problems.
Provides nutrition education and counseling to inpatients, outpatients, their families, caretakers, staff and the community.
Reviews medical records, and interviews the patient and their caregivers to collect food and nutritionrelated history or client history assessment data.
Serves as preceptor for dietetic interns and provides onthejob training for new hires.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Bachelor's Degree
2 years Clinical Dietetics Preferred
Registered Dietitian (RD) State Licensing Board
State Certification or Licensure .
