Summary The Head Women's Volleyball Coach is responsible for developing, organizing, and leading all aspects of the Women's Volleyball program. This includes recruiting student-athletes, implementing training programs, and fostering an environment of academic and athletic excellence. The coach will play a vital role in building a competitive and successful program while ensuring student-athlete development aligns with the university's mission. This position requires the head coach to maintain a minimum of 17 indoor volleyball only student-athletes on the varsity roster and to maintain a JV/reserve team roster with a minimum of 8 new recruited student-athletes. Additionally, the position will oversee a graduate assistant coach. Job Description Duties and Tasks: Develop and oversee all aspects of the Women's Volleyball program, including: Recruiting and evaluating prospective student-athletes Designing and implementing training programs and practice sessions Developing game strategies and play execution Monitoring student-athlete academic progress and personal development Creating a positive and structured environment for student-athletes Administrative responsibilities include: Managing the program budget, equipment, and travel logistics Scheduling competitions and coordinating team-related activities Collaborating with athletic department staff for program advancement Overseeing and mentoring a graduate assistant coach Engage in promotional and public relations efforts to build program visibility, including: Assisting with fundraising initiatives to support the program Representing the Department of Athletics at university and community events Encouraging community service involvement among student-athletes Promote the University's core values and build effective partnerships within the campus community Ensure clear communication and engagement with internal and external stakeholders Foster an inclusive and welcoming environment for student-athletes, staff, and the university community Perform other related duties as assigned REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Strong understanding of coaching techniques and strategies for volleyball Ability to recruit, develop, and motivate student-athletes Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills Ability to create game plans and implement competitive strategies Valid Driver's License Proficiency in computer programs used for coaching, recruiting, and analysis EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred Collegiate, high school, or club coaching experience required Proven ability to mentor and develop student-athletes Physical Demands: Ability to demonstrate proper volleyball techniques and training Set up and move equipment for practices and competitions Lift up to 10 pounds as necessary for team-related activities ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are a representation of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
