The Rocket City Trash Pandas are the proud Double-A Minor League Baseball affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, located at Toyota Field in Madison, AL! The club is in search of an enthusiastic, energetic, and multi-faceted Social Media Manager to join the Marketing Department and enhance the most meteoric brand in Minor League Baseball, both online and in the ballpark.
The Trash Pandas are the fastest-growing social media brand in Minor League Baseball, leading all 120 teams in audience growth over their first four seasons and consistently ranking in the Top 10 across numerous metrics for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok. Additionally, the Huntsville/Madison area is ranked as one of the Top Places To Live in the entire country by U.S. News & World Report!
The Social Media Manager is a salaried, non-exempt position reporting to the Executive Vice President of Marketing. The role will work all Trash Pandas home games and remotely cover about half of the road games. Responsibilities can include, but are not limited to, capturing content in and around Toyota Field (fan experience, game highlights, promotions and entertainment, player interactions, etc.), posting in-game updates and announcements on Trash Pandas social media channels, maintaining the team website, building marketing emails and texting campaigns, assisting with paid social media initiatives, and more. This role will also manage a seasonal Social Media Intern.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Shoot and post videos and photos for social media and other digital uses
Clip and edit relevant game highlights as they happen in real-time
Working all home games in person, and remotely covering about 30-40 road games
Creating and sending weekly marketing emails
Execute paid social media campaigns
Help keep Trash Pandas website updated with any and all relevant content
Create and edit video content for TikTok and YouTube
Show the initiative to be creative and think outside the box
Non-departmental responsibilities may include tarp pulls, assisting the promotions team with in-game contests, providing proof of performance reports for sponsorship and sales, and other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
3+ years of experience posting on brand or team social media channels (Baseball experience preferred but not required)
Preferred experience with writing press releases, game stories, profile pieces, and recaps
Strong familiarity with baseball
Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work on short notice
Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Excellent interpersonal Skills - Must work well with others at all levels of organization
Proven ability to take initiative
Passion for sports, entertainment, and digital media
