Your Role
The Fitness Supervisor is responsible for the overall supervision and delivery of all Fitness programming and classes, as well as supervising operations within the Fitness Centre, Indoor Running Track, and the High-Performance Training Centre. This position plays a pivotal role in the quality of life of the users and ensures the facilitys usage is maximized to its fullest potential. The Supervisor will work towards creating partnership opportunities in our community to excel in sport & fitness programs such as dry land training, personal training, group fitness, and corporate health & wellness offerings.
Your Impact
Ensure customer service is always exceptional.
Supervise daily operations of Fitness amenities.
Liaising with Fitness user groups & other key stakeholders.
Participate and conduct regular staff meetings and update department on new programs, classes, clinics, and camps.
Evaluate effectiveness of Fitness programs and classes and identify areas where new programs are needed.
Ensure a variety of Fitness programming for all ages and various interest groups are planned and implemented.
Stays abreast on new Fitness trends to continually meet the needs of members and guests
Supervise service delivery to all Fitness class and program participants and user groups.
Assist with budget projections and monitor expenditures while achieving maximum levels of service to our guests, user groups, and staff.
Make recommendations on equipment purchases and identify cost-cutting solutions within the department. Coordinating maintenance of Fitness equipment located within MacDonald Island Park.
Responsible for hiring, interviewing, and evaluating staff in accordance with People & Culture policies. Responsible for the daily supervision, leadership, task assigning, and scheduling of all staff and contractors.
Establishes and maintains a cooperative/collaborative working relationship with other departments and rural facilities within the RRC through positive actions and communication.

Your Accomplishments
High School Diploma or GED Equivalency.
Fitness Trainer and/or Instructor Certification from a reputable governing body (i.e. AFLCA, Can-Fit Pro, ISSA, NSCA, CSEP).
Degree or Diploma in Recreation, Kinesiology, Physical Education, or related discipline, or equivalent education and experience.
Current Intermediate First Aid/CPR/AED Certification or equivalent (including CPR C).
NCCP Level Certification is an asset.
CrossFit Certification is an asset.
Minimum three (3) years of experience planning fitness programming, preferably in a supervisory position.
Customer service and sales experience
Strong background in Fitness and/or Physical Education
Excellent personal motivation with a proven ability to build and work collaboratively in a strong team concept environment, and independently. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to develop and foster partnerships with external clients
Ability to participate in department meetings, provide updates, and liaise with programming staff
Ability to successfully evaluate program successes and failures and staff job performance
Possess strong coordination and leadership skills
Strong organizational skills and experience in risk management
Ability to coordinate the activities of staff to complete assigned tasks
Ability to work with Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Ability to coach, train, and guide staff and volunteers.
Ability to engage in continuous learning and on the job training.

Working Conditions
This position requires full-time work and a flexible schedule including statutory holidays, early morning, late night, and weekend work.
This position may include heavy lifting of supplies and equipment up to 50 lbs.
This position may be exposed to loud noises and will require an individual to be able to concentrate in a busy environment.
