Assistant Coach, Intercollegiate Athletics

The Assistant Coach will be responsible for working closely with the Head Coach in developing and executing a competitive and disciplined Intercollegiate Athletics sport program. This role involves assisting in the design and implementation of coaching strategies that adhere to local, state, federal, and organizational regulations such as NCAA, Big West Conference, and University guidelines. The Assistant Coach will play a key role in supervising athletes during training sessions, games, and other team activities, ensuring that sound teaching principles are applied to enhance player performance and development. Additionally, the Assistant Coach will actively contribute to fostering a positive team culture focused on sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in athletics coaching with a focus on the specific sport played by the intercollegiate team. Excellent communication and leadership skills are essential for effectively guiding and motivating student-athletes. Candidates should also demonstrate a deep understanding of the rules and regulations governing intercollegiate athletics and show a commitment to compliance and ethical behavior in all aspects of the program. Prior experience working in a collegiate sports environment is preferred.

Key Responsibilities: - Assist in coaching student-athletes in skill development and game strategies - Support the Head Coach in organizing and conducting team practices and competitions - Help monitor academic progress and overall well-being of student-athletes - Collaborate with athletic department staff to ensure program compliance and success - Contribute to recruitment efforts by scouting and evaluating potential student-athletes

This is a full-time position based on the principles of teamwork and respect for all individuals within the intercollegiate athletics program.

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
