Summer Camp Coach

Are you passionate about sports and working with children?  Breakthrough Sports is seeking enthusiastic, responsible, and energetic individuals to join our Summer Camp team! We are offering weekly camps including: basketball, flag football, soccer and volleyball camps throughout Southern California.

Coaches are key leaders at camp, responsible for creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment for campers while leading activities, games, and instructional sessions. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, plan, and facilitate daily sports camp activities

• Supervise campers to ensure safety and well-being at all times

• Serve as a role model for campers, demonstrating positive attitudes and respectful behavior

• Promote inclusivity and team spirit among campers

• Assist in setting up and breaking down activities and equipment

• Communicate effectively with fellow staff and camp leadership

• Monitor camper behavior and report concerns to the Camp Director

• Maintain a clean and organized camp environment

• Attend all staff training and meetings

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18

• Previous experience working with children (preferred but not required)

• Previous experience playing sports

• Background in coaching, teaching, or mentoring

• Strong communication and leadership skills

• High energy, positive attitude, and a sense of humor

• Ability to work outdoors and adapt to changing schedules

Schedule:

• Monday - Friday

• Half-Day (9am-12:00pm) or Full-Day (9am-4pm) coaching spots available

• Camps run May 27 - August 8, 2025

• Must be available for staff training prior to the camp start date

Compensation:

• $25/hour

• Breakthrough Sports gear

• Letter of recommendation and community service hours available upon request
