State Farm Stadium

Completed in August of 2006, State Farm Stadium has set the standard in multi-purpose NFL Facilities. The stadium is home to a variety of different events including Arizona Cardinals home games, the annual Fiesta Bowl, international soccer matches, motorsports, trade & consumer shows, and corporate & social functions. Designed with a roll-out natural grass field and retractable roof, the first of its kind in North America, the stadium can convert from a sports facility to a multi-functional event space allowing it to host numerous event types in air-conditioned comfort.

Summary

The Conversions Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the conversions team, ensuring the efficient setup and teardown of events and the overall readiness of the stadium. This leadership position is responsible for coordinating the work of Conversions Specialists, maintaining high standards of safety and quality, and ensuring all event-related and day-to-day tasks are completed on schedule. The Conversions Supervisor plays a critical role in fostering teamwork, implementing processes, and ensuring seamless transitions between events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct quality control checks to verify that setups meet event specifications, promptly addressing any deficiencies or inconsistencies.
  • Supervise and lead the Conversions team in the setup and teardown of events, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to event layouts and timelines.
  • Coordinate schedules, assign tasks, and monitor the progress of Conversions Specialists to ensure all work is completed effectively.
  • Review event layouts and work orders, providing clear direction and ensuring team members understand setup requirements.
  • Maintain communication with other departments to ensure collaboration and smooth execution of event operations.
  • Train and mentor Conversions Specialists, promoting adherence to safety standards, processes, and organizational goals.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the stadium and storage areas to ensure cleanliness, organization, and compliance with safety protocols.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational challenges related to event setups, equipment, or staffing.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, staff hours, and completed tasks, ensuring thorough documentation of all setups and conversions.
  • Enforce accountability within the team by tracking performance, addressing inefficiencies, and ensuring adherence to established procedures and quality standards.
  • Provide regular reports on operational performance, staffing, and any deviations from planned setups, ensuring transparency and continuous improvement.
  • Implement and enforce safety guidelines and best practices, fostering a safe and productive work environment.

Technical & Operational Skills:

  • Mechanical skills, with working experience in an arena, convention center, or stadium strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other heavy equipment or the ability to obtain certification within 3 months.
  • Familiarity with OSHA requirements, safety regulations, and emergency response protocols.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy in event setups, work orders, and team assignments.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, including email, Excel, and Word, with the ability to maintain records and generate reports.

Additional Requirements:

  • Capable of working flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Reliable means of transportation.
  • Must have a valid AZ drivers license.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in stadium or large-scale event setup.
