This is a full time, 10-month, annually renewable appointment. Starting salary is competitive and negotiable with experience and a record of success. The position carries excellent fringe benefits.
This position is available as a Director of Track and Field / Cross Country or Head Coach Track and Field depending on experience. For Director positions, a successful record track and field experience is required (typically a minimum of 5 years).
The successful candidate will demonstrate an appreciation for the mission and value of a public liberal arts college, be self-directed and motivated, work with integrity, and bring skills and abilities needed to advance Cougar mens and womens track and field, the athletic program, and the University.
Required qualifications include:
- A Bachelors degree and demonstrated effectiveness playing and/or coaching track and field is required (throws experience preferred).
- Excellent organization, oral and written communication skills, an appreciation for the philosophy of the NCAA Division III.
- Strong program management skills.
- The ability to recruit and retain qualified and talented student athletes.
- A demonstrated commitment to students athletic and academic success.
- The demonstrated ability to build, motivate, and retain a diverse, inclusive, successful team with sensitivity to individuals of all cultural backgrounds, and the capacity to be a visible and engaging leader.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Masters degree, college coaching experience and/or participation at the collegiate level are preferred.
