JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB ID: 21743 POSITION: Head Women\'s Lacrosse Coach,CC001, Full-Time: 100%, Limited, Ongoing/Renewable, Annual (12-Month), 1Vacancy POSITION SUMMARY: Organizes and administers intercollegiatesport(s). May supervise a staff and/or have budgetary responsibility.May conduct practices, identify and recruit qualified student-athletes,develop competitive schedules, coordinate team travel, and ensurecompliance with governing rules and regulations. Responsible forplanning and directing the recruitment, conditioning, training,performance, and administration of the women\'s lacrosse program in themanner that upholds the philosophy and objectives of the University ofWisconsin-Superior Athletic Department. The position also assists withdepartmental management duties, as assigned. ADDITIONAL DUTIES SPECIFICTO POSITION: Promotes the philosophy and objectives of the athleticprogram; to include adhering to and enforcing all departmental policiesand procedures, as well as rules and regulations of the University, thegoverning sport conference, and the National Collegiate AthleticsAssociation (NCAA). Oversees the recruitment and selection ofstudent-athletes to meet roster and enrollment expectations for thewomen\'s ice hockey program, as defined by the Athletic Director andUniversity Administration. Ensures compliance with NCAA recruiting rulesand regulations. Manages and monitors the women\'s lacrosse budget underthe supervision of the Athletic Director. Meets all revenue andfundraising expectations, as outlined in the women\'s lacrosse programbudget and as approved by the Athletic Director. Develops andcoordinates the women\'s lacrosse schedule within the guidelines ofdepartmental policies and the parameters of the women\'s lacrossebudget. Adheres to all departmental and University travel policies.Oversees selection, purchase, and maintenance of team equipment, toinclude uniforms, athletic equipment and supplies, within the guidelinesof departmental policies and procedures, as well as rules andregulations of the University and the NCAA. Provides leadership,training and instruction on athletic development of student-athletes.Schedules and conducts regular practices and games in and out of season,as permitted by NCAA rules and regulations. Monitors the eligibilitystatus of student-athletes in the women\'s lacrosse program and promotesthe academic progress of all student-athletes. Supervises assignedassistant coaches and other support staff to ensure compliance toapplicable rules, policies, and procedures outlined by the department,University and the NCAA. Upholds and enforces the standards andexpectations of student-athletes as outlined in the Student-Athletehandbook. Develops and publishes rules and expectations ofstudent-athletes in the women\'s ice hockey program, with approval ofAthletic Director. Enforces such team rules with appropriatedisciplinary action. Cooperates with all Athletic Department staffmembers to enhance overall department operations and initiatives.Participates in public relations activities to include speakingengagements, television and radio interviews and press conferences, asapproved or requested. Represents Athletic Department at professional,civic, charitable and alumni events. Provide additional departmentalsupport to duties assigned by the Athletic Director. Other Duties:Complete required trainings and professional development as assigned.Other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Ability torecruit and retain student-athletes for the women\'s lacrosse program.Knowledge of budget development, preparation, and fiscal management.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with awide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Proficiency incomputer use and relevant applications. Ability to provide leadershipand instruction in the personal and ath etic development of staff andstudent-athletes. Ability to resolve problems and answer questionsrelated to the operations of the women\'s lacrosse program. Ability toorganize workflow and coordinate activities. Ability to demonstrateeffective communication skills both orally and written. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONSINCLUDE: Master\'s degree from an accredited institution Two years ofprofessional coaching at the high school level or above in women\'slacrosse. Collegiate coaching experience preferred. Demonstratedexperience in budget management and fundraising initiatives.
