Day Camp Lifeguards

About the New York Athletic Club and the Winged Foot Day Camp:

The New York Athletic Club, one of the world's premier clubs, is seeking a Day Camp Lifeguard at the Travers Island property located in Pelham, NY. The candidate for this position will be a part of the Winged Foot Day Camp team and will serve as the primary lifeguard during camp hours.

The Winged Foot Day Camp is the perfect opportunity for children of members to gain a full camp experience, take advantage of the world class facilities at Travers Island, and create memories to last a lifetime. Campers will participate in several sports, creative arts, theme days, and off campus field trips.

Job Description and Responsibilities

• Ensure the well-being and safety of all members/guests using the pool

• Maintain the pool area’s cleanliness and organization

• Enforce safety rules and regulations of the Club and pool deck

• Greet and interact with members in the pool area

• Attend pre-camp training in June 2024

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience as a lifeguard

• Transportation to and from Travers Island required

• Be available 15-20 hours per week during June-August 2024

• Must hold a valid CPR/AED/First Aid certification

• Must hold a valid Lifeguard certification

• Must be 18 years or older

• Pass NYS and national background checks

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work on a team

• Possess effective customer service skills
