Recruitment marketing leader analyzes 43.9 million job postings from 2021 and offers forward-looking hiring advice for 2022
Frederick, Maryland – Jan. 12, 2022 – iHire today published its fourth annual U.S. Job Industry Recap & Outlook Report, an analysis of the 43.9 million job postings shared across its recruitment marketing platform’s 57 industry-specific talent communities in 2021. Highlights from iHire’s U.S. Job Industry Recap & Outlook Report include the following:
- Total Job Postings: 2021 brought a record 43.9 million job postings to iHire’s platform – a 65.0% increase from 2020’s total.
- Top Hiring Sectors: Candidates could find the most career opportunities in the Science & Engineering, Professional & Administrative, and Health & Social Service sectors in 2021, as these segments boasted 10.5 million, 10.0 million, and 9.9 million job postings, respectively.
- Top Hiring Industries: Of iHire’s 57 industry-specific talent communities, iHireTransportation (5.4 million), iHireNursing (5.3 million), iHireTechnology (3.8 million), iHireSalesPeople (2.7 million), and iHireRetail (2.5 million) promoted the most job openings in 2021.
- Most In-Demand Roles: Throughout the year, employers most frequently sought applicants for CDL Truck Driver, Registered Nurse (RN), Warehouse Associate, Sales Rep, Clerk/Cashier, and Software Developer positions on iHire.
- Remote Work Trends: Employers posted 227,694 remote job openings to iHire’s platform in 2021. Top talent communities for remote jobs included iHireTechnology, iHireCustomerService, iHireSalesPeople, iHireEngineering, and iHireAccounting. Common remote job career titles comprised Software Developer, Sales Rep, Customer Service Rep, Engineer, and Data Scientist.
